Match your study bank to your application

USCIS applies the 2008 test to N-400 applications filed before October 20, 2025, and the 2025 test to those filed on or after October 20, 2025. You select the matching version here without entering a filing date.

65/20 special consideration

USCIS describes special consideration for applicants who were age 65 or older and had lived in the United States as lawful permanent residents for at least 20 years when they filed Form N-400. The designated starred questions differ between the versions. Our checkbox selects that study set; it does not determine your eligibility. This preview provides English question text only.

Use the current answer at your interview

Some answers change after elections or appointments, and some depend on your state or congressional district. The tool marks these questions and links to USCIS updates and government directories. We do not guess your location or store elected officials’ names. Check the official serving at the time of your interview.

Answer the number of items the question asks for: for example, “Name five” needs five items. Bullets may be alternatives, or may contain a complete multi-part answer. Compare against the complete answer, rather than counting bullets alone.

What practice scores mean

You assess your own spoken recall after viewing the answers. Practice rounds stop using the selected version’s threshold; flashcards and mistake review are untimed study activities. A self-assessment is not official scoring and does not predict whether you will pass. No speech recognition, microphone access, or audio playback is included.
